We are Aoife, Jake & Corran - Dun Flashadder Cottage Croft.
We manage Croft land, mainly in Kildonan, Flashadder and Edinbane here on the Hebridean Isle of Skye.
From that management of land we produce and sell :
Hogget Meat & Felted Wool Products from our native breed Hebridean Sheep.
Rare Breed Mangalitsa Pork Products.
Blackcurrants and Blueberries from our Mature Fruit orchard.
Workshop courses teaching participants about our sheep and how to felt.
Felted wool products.
Avoiding waste and honouring the animals we keep is fundamental to our ethos. Hebridean wool is not a valuable resource at a commerciala scale - it cannot be dyed and it is a relatively coarse fibre. However, it is one of the very best wool types for felting.
We produce beautiful items that are also all functional and hard wearing. Like the sheep themselves.
